Overview
Established in 1873, Aarhus Botanical Garden sits right next to the Den Gamle By open-air museum and spans about 20 hectares of native and exotic plant species. The large 1970s C.F. Møller-designed greenhouse complex houses tropical rainforest plants and cacti, and a newly added tropical hothouse has become popular too. The broad lawns and ponds are a favorite spot for locals to picnic and stroll, making it a natural add-on to a Den Gamle By visit. Gardens free; small fee for the greenhouses (details may change).
