Overview
Begun in the 12th century, Aarhus Cathedral is Denmark's longest church at 93m, evolving from Romanesque to Gothic over time. Inside, 15th-century medieval frescoes have been beautifully preserved, and Bernt Notke's large 15th-century altarpiece is a standout. At 59m, its bell tower is the tallest building in Aarhus and offers panoramic city views. Dedicated to St. Clement, the cathedral is also a patron church for sailors.
