Founded in 1897 by Carl Jacobsen, son of Carlsberg's founder, this museum pairs an extensive collection of ancient Egyptian, Greek, and Roman sculpture with French Impressionist and Post-Impressionist works by Rodin, Gauguin, Degas, and Cézanne. The palm-filled indoor Winter Garden is the museum's signature space, with statues, fountains, and a cafe beneath a glass ceiling. Conveniently close to Tivoli Gardens and Central Station.
