Overview
Built in 1606 by Christian IV as a summer residence, this Renaissance castle is famous for housing the Danish crown jewels. Twenty-four exhibition rooms display royal furniture, tapestries, and art from the 17th-19th centuries, with the underground treasury showcasing the royal crowns, scepters, and swords as the highlight. The surrounding King's Garden (Kongens Have) is a beloved Copenhagen retreat, packed with picnickers and sunbathers in summer. Admission about DKK 125. 5-minute walk from Metro M3 Marmorkirken station.
