Overview
Opened in 1975, the Luxor Museum is a refined alternative to the much larger Egyptian Museum in Cairo, showcasing a carefully selected collection in a clean, modern display. Highlights include 22 royal statues unearthed at Luxor Temple, items from Tutankhamun's tomb, and the mummies of Amenhotep III and Ramesses I. Set along the Nile between Luxor Temple and Karnak, it's walkable and just two hours is plenty for a full visit. Admission EGP 300. Corniche road on the east bank.
