Overview
Opened in 2005, Akshardham is the world's largest Hindu temple complex, holding a Guinness World Record. Over 10,000 artisans spent five years hand-carving Rajasthani pink sandstone and Italian Carrara marble into an edifice featuring 20,000 sculptures and 148 elephant statues. A boat ride through Indian civilization and the nightly fountain water show are major draws. Free admission (some exhibits are paid). 5-minute walk from Akshardham Station (Metro Blue Line). Cameras and smartphones are not allowed inside.
