Overview
Completed in 1931, India Gate is a 42m triumphal arch war memorial honoring 82,000 Indian soldiers who died in World War I and the Third Anglo-Afghan War. Standing at the eastern end of the Rajpath — the 3km ceremonial boulevard leading to the Presidential Palace (Rashtrapati Bhavan) — it is illuminated at night for a grand spectacle.
