Overview
The Mombasa Tusks are giant aluminum sculptures installed over Moi Avenue in 1952 to mark Queen Elizabeth II's visit. Two pairs of tusks face each other to form an 'M' shape - the initial of Mombasa - and they have become the city's most recognized symbol. Set in the heart of the commercial district, they greet visitors from every approach and are an unmissable photo spot. Cafes, shops, and money changers nearby make this a natural starting point for a city walk. Free. Center of Moi Avenue.

Travel Tips
Morning light between 7-9 a.m. gives the cleanest shots. Stay on the sidewalk - the tusks straddle a busy road.
