Overview
Located in Nairobi's Langata district, the Giraffe Centre is a conservation facility dedicated to the endangered Rothschild's giraffe. From an elevated platform, visitors come eye to eye with the giraffes and feed them by hand - feeling that long tongue grab a pellet is an unforgettable moment. Since opening in 1979 it has helped boost Rothschild's giraffe numbers, and you can also spot warthogs along the on-site nature trail.
Travel Tips
Giraffes are more active in the morning. It's close to the Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage and easy to combine. Breakfast at the adjacent Giraffe Manor (advance booking essential) is a special experience.
