Overview
Manta Point is a diving and snorkeling site 1-2 hours by boat from Maafushi where, from January to April, you can swim alongside Indian Ocean reef mantas (Manta alfredi) with wingspans of 4-5 m. These gentle plankton-feeders are harmless and glide elegantly around divers — a once-in-a-lifetime moment. Typically run as day trips or liveaboard tours by dive centers; availability depends on season and weather. Tour about USD 80-150. Book via Maafushi dive centers.
