Why travel to Maldives?

Maldives offers 3 curated city guides, 54 attractions and 21 signature dishes hand-picked by Korean travelers. Below you'll find essentials Korean passport holders actually need — visa requirements, daily budgets in USD, best season, and on-the-ground transport tips.

Best Season

Best in the dry season (November-April) for clear skies and transparent water. Travel is possible in the wet season (May-October), but rain is frequent.

Budget

Daily budget around $55-360 (local-island guesthouses $35-70; resorts $210+; food $20-55).

Visa

Korean passport holders may enter visa-free for 30 days (free visa on arrival issued automatically).

Transport

From Velana International Airport, a ferry reaches Male in about 10 minutes. Resort islands are reached by speedboat or seaplane. SIM cards (Dhiraagu/Ooredoo) available at the airport (about USD 10-20/week). Both cash (US dollars) and cards are accepted. As an Islamic country, pork and alcohol are not sold on local islands. Tipping is optional.
