Overview
Devi's Falls (Patale Chhango) is a unique waterfall where water from Phewa Lake plunges about 30m into a subterranean cave. It's named after Devi, a Swiss traveler who disappeared here in 1961. During the monsoon (July-September), the volume creates a thundering display of mist and spray; in the dry season, the cave structure is more visible. It pairs naturally with a visit to Gupteshwor Mahadev Cave directly across the road. Admission NPR 50. About 10 minutes by taxi from Lakeside.

Travel Tips
Visit Gupteshwor Cave across the road to see the falls from inside the cavern. The monsoon brings the most dramatic flow, but watch your footing on wet surfaces.
