Overview
Operating since the 13th century, the Wieliczka Salt Mine is one of the world's oldest and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It descends 327m underground, and the Chapel of St. Kinga is breathtaking — chandeliers, floor tiles, and statues are all carved from salt. Across 9 levels and 245km of tunnels you'll find salt lakes, sculptures, and chapels; the tourist route covers about 3km on foot. A salt replica of Leonardo's Last Supper is among the highlights.
