Overview
Phang Nga Bay is a roughly 400km² bay northeast of Phuket, studded with hundreds of towering limestone karst islands that create a stunning seascape. The most famous is Khao Phing Kan (a.k.a. James Bond Island), which appeared as the villain's hideout in the 1974 Bond film 'The Man with the Golden Gun.' Popular tours include canoeing through limestone caves and mangrove forests, and visiting the floating Muslim village of Koh Panyi. Tour costs range from THB 1,200-3,500 (including lunch). About 1 hour by car from Phuket, then a boat ride.
