Overview
Also known as the Parroquia San Juan Bosco, this church sits right in front of La Fortuna's central park. On clear days, Arenal Volcano rises directly behind it, making this one of Costa Rica's most photographed churches. Inside, a simple exterior gives way to an altar depicting the Resurrection, a sky-blue ceiling, and stained glass windows. On Sundays the plaza fills with food and craft vendors. There is no admission fee.

Early morning, before clouds build up, gives the clearest volcano photos. Sunday mornings bring a lively market to the plaza.
