Located within the grounds of Dublin Castle, this museum holds the lifelong collection of American-born mining magnate Alfred Chester Beatty - Islamic, East Asian, and European manuscripts and art. Highlights include Egyptian papyri, Persian miniatures, Chinese jade carvings, and Japanese woodblock prints, and the museum was named European Museum of the Year in 2002. The rooftop garden offers views over Dublin Castle and the city. Free entry. Right beside Dublin Castle.
