Overview
Daereungwon is a large tomb park gathering 23 burial mounds of Silla royalty and nobility, famous for the exotic scenery created by their gently curving ridgelines. Among them, Cheonmachong is open inside, letting visitors see excavated relics such as the Heavenly Horse painting and a gold crown. Adult admission is around KRW 3,000, with the park generally open 09:00-22:00 and the Cheonmachong interior 09:00-18:00 (seasonal variation). Spring, with magnolias and cherry blossoms, and evenings with night lighting are especially popular.
Travel Tips
The tombs framed by spring magnolias are Gyeongju's top photo spot. On an evening stroll, the illuminated silhouette of the mounds is beautiful.
