Overview
Daepo Jusangjeolli Cliff is a formation of hexagonal and square basalt columns along the Seogwipo coast, a natural masterpiece created when lava flowing from Hallasan met seawater and cooled rapidly. The columns, reaching 30-40m high in places, create a dramatic scene where waves crash against them, best viewed up close along the coastal walkway. Protected as a natural monument. Admission KRW 2,000. About 15 minutes by car from Seogwipo city center.
Travel Tips
The columns look most dramatic on slightly rough-weather days when waves crash hard. Stay within the safety fencing.
