Overview
Sanbangsan is a 395m bell-shaped trachyte lava dome rising along Jeju's southwest coast. Partway up, the Sanbanggulsa cave temple enshrines a Buddha statue, and the cave offers a stunning view over Yongmeori Coast and the sea. While climbing to the summit is restricted, anyone can hike up to Sanbanggulsa. Pairs well with nearby Yongmeori Coast and the Hamel Ship Exhibition Hall. Admission KRW 1,000. About 20 minutes by car from Jungmun, in Andeok-myeon, Seogwipo.
Travel Tips
The stairs up to Sanbanggulsa are fairly steep - wear comfortable shoes. Pairs well with Yongmeori Coast for a half-day route.
