Overview
Dar Batha Museum occupies a late 19th-century summer palace built by Alaouite sultan Moulay Hassan and showcases the depth of Fes's traditional crafts. Its most celebrated pieces are Fes blue pottery and finely woven Berber carpets, alongside medals, weapons, coins, embroidery, and leatherwork spanning the 11th to 19th centuries. Equally remarkable is the Andalusian-style garden, where a huge fig tree provides shaded rest. Between Bab Boujloud and the medina, it makes an easy quick stop. Admission MAD 20. Five minutes on foot from Bab Boujloud.
Opening Hours
Wed-Mon 09:00-17:00 (closed Tuesdays)
Travel Tips
The cool garden is a welcome refuge when the medina gets overwhelming. The museum itself is small - 30-45 minutes is enough.
