Overview
The Ibn Danan Synagogue, built in the 17th century and restored several times since, is a leading example of the Mellah's synagogues and one of the few sites to fully preserve Moroccan-Jewish architectural style. Blue-and-white tiled interiors, a wooden Torah ark, and a subterranean mikveh (ritual bath) survive, and a major UNESCO-supported restoration was completed in 1999. No regular services are held today, but it is preserved as a cultural heritage site honoring Fez's Jewish community, and the rooftop offers a view over the Mellah. Admission about MAD 20 (donation). Tucked in the alleys of the Fez Mellah.
