Overview
Rio Secreto (Secret River) is a semi-submerged cave system south of Playa del Carmen, filled with stalactites and stalagmites formed over millions of years. Equipped with a helmet and life jacket, a guide leads you along and through more than 600m of underground river - a one-of-a-kind adventure. The crystal-clear water and natural light inside the cave create one of the Yucatan Peninsula's most impressive natural experiences. Guided tour about MXN 1,900-2,800 (includes transport, equipment, and snacks). About 15 minutes by car from Playa del Carmen.

Travel Tips
Non-swimmers are safe with the provided life jackets. Only biodegradable sunscreen is allowed, and a waterproof camera case is essential. Morning tours are the most relaxed.
