The home of port wine — a riverside city of colourful facades and beautiful azulejo tiles along the Douro. Waterfront cafes in Ribeira, bookshops and galleries in Bolhão, and the buzz around Clérigos Tower all add to the appeal. More intimate than Lisbon, Porto offers a deeply authentic taste of Portuguese culture, with Douro River cruises and port wine tastings as highlights.
