Overview
Bogotá's Museo del Oro is the world's largest gold museum, displaying more than 55,000 pre-Columbian gold pieces that reveal the refined metalwork of Colombia's and South America's indigenous civilizations. On the third floor, the immersive 'Offering Room' surrounds visitors with illuminated artifacts emerging from the darkness. The Muisca golden raft (Balsa Muisca), inspiration for the El Dorado legend, is the museum's most famous treasure.
