Overview
Commissioned by Charles IV in 1357, this Gothic stone bridge across the Vltava River is Prague's most iconic landmark. Thirty Baroque saint statues line its 516m length, and legend has it that touching the relief on the St. John of Nepomuk statue brings good luck. Early-morning mist over the bridge is one of Prague's most romantic scenes, and street artists and musicians add to the atmosphere. Bridge free (tower admission about CZK 100). 5-minute walk from Metro Malostranská (Line A).
Opening Hours
Open 24 hours (bridge towers 10:00-18:00).
Travel Tips
Visit at sunrise to photograph the bridge in mist before the crowds arrive. Don't forget to touch the St. John of Nepomuk relief for luck.
