Overview
Located 80 km south of Rovaniemi, Ranua Wildlife Park is the world's northernmost zoo, opened in 1983. About 50 species and 200 native northern wild animals live in near-natural environments — polar bears, moose, wolves, lynx, brown bears, musk ox, Arctic foxes, and snowy owls among them. A 3-km path loops through the park, and the snow-covered winter setting shows the animals in their wildest form. It's the best place in Finland to see polar bear cubs. Admission about EUR 22. About 1 hour from Rovaniemi as a day trip.
Opening Hours
10:00-16:00 (09:00-19:00 in Jun-Aug).
