Overview
Only the facade and colonnade of the original 1831 neoclassical building were kept when architect Jean Nouvel rebuilt it in 1993, capping it with a striking black glass barrel-vaulted dome. It hosts opera, ballet, and classical concerts year-round and is home to the Lyon National Orchestra. The illuminated dome is especially striking at night. Tickets range roughly EUR 10-130 depending on the performance. Located right beside Place des Terreaux.
