Overview
Isamu Noguchi conceived this 189-hectare park as a single sculpture, transforming a landfill into the Hidamari glass pyramid, the 62m man-made Mt. Moere and a sea fountain that erupts through summer. Geometry meets season at every angle; the summit view sweeps the city and Ishikari plain, winter buries it in white for cross-country skiing and sledding, and spring brings a cherry forest. Worth the trip in any season.
