Overview
Sapporo's oldest shopping street, running since 1873 — 900m of covered arcade across seven blocks and some 200 shops. Big drugstores, Don Quijote, souvenir shops and old-guard eateries mix under one roof, making it the place to finish your shopping in comfort even mid-blizzard. The tanuki (raccoon dog) shrine hides in block 5, festivals animate summer, and its position between Susukino and Odori slots it neatly into any evening.
