Overview
Founded in 678 during the Silla era, Beomeosa is considered one of the three great temples of the Yeongnam region alongside Haeinsa and Tongdosa. Nestled in the dense forests of Geumjeongsan Mountain, its treasure-designated one-pillar gate and main hall exude a serene atmosphere. The hiking trail up Geumjeongsan behind the temple is a favorite among Busan locals. Close to the city yet deeply immersed in mountain temple ambiance. Free admission. About 15 minutes by bus from Beomeosa Station (Line 1).
