Overview
The Sharjah Art Museum is the largest art museum in the Gulf region, focusing on Arab art from the 18th century to the present and European Orientalist paintings. Permanent and temporary exhibitions span two buildings, and during the Sharjah Biennial, works by international contemporary artists are also displayed. Located in the heart of the Arts Area, it pairs perfectly with the nearby Calligraphy Museum and Sharjah Art Foundation for a cultural walking tour. Free admission. About 10 minutes on foot from the Museum of Islamic Civilization.
