Overview
Barron Gorge National Park lies just west of Cairns and centers on the majestic Barron Falls. During the wet season (December-April) the falls swell to a thundering spectacle, though the tropical rainforest scenery is beautiful year-round. Both the Kuranda Scenic Railway and Skyrail pass through the park, and various bushwalking trails offer encounters with tropical plants, butterflies, and birds.
