Overview
Four Mile Beach stretches, true to its name, about four miles (6.4km) from Macrossan Street in central Port Douglas south to the mouth of the Mowbray River, and as a public beach it has no entrance fee whatsoever. During the stinger season, protective nets are installed and lifeguards patrol a designated swimming area. It's within a five-minute walk of central Port Douglas, and from Cairns it's about a one-hour drive along the Captain Cook Highway. Details may change; please verify before visiting.
