Overview
The Daintree Rainforest, formed around 130 million years ago, is the world's oldest tropical rainforest and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. About 30% of all known plant species on Earth grow here, and rare wildlife like the cassowary and tree kangaroo can be spotted. At Cape Tribulation, the rainforest meets the reef in a landscape found nowhere else on the planet. A Daintree River cruise to observe wild crocodiles is a must. Guided tours AUD 150-250. About 2 hours by car from Cairns.
Opening Hours
