Overview
The Cairns Esplanade Lagoon is a free, 4,800m² public saltwater swimming pool on the city waterfront. Since Cairns's mudflat coastline isn't suitable for swimming, this lagoon is the top swimming spot for locals and tourists alike. It features a sandy beach, grassy areas, BBQ facilities, and lifeguards on duty. A promenade along the Esplanade connects fitness zones, playgrounds, and walking paths ideal for jogging or a stroll.
Opening Hours
Thu-Sun 06:00-21:00, Wed 12:00-21:00 (Tue opens 12:00 for cleaning).
