Overview
Philae is a Ptolemaic-era temple dedicated to the goddess Isis and a UNESCO World Heritage site, moved stone by stone to Agilkia Island during construction of the Aswan High Dam. Approaching by boat, the temple looks as if it floats above the Nile. The colonnades of the Isis Temple, the Kiosk of Trajan, and the Temple of Hathor showcase a distinctive blend of Ptolemaic and Roman architecture. A night sound-and-light show is also held here.
