Overview
Completed in 1919, Palacio de Cibeles is one of Madrid's landmark buildings, known for its ornate Neo-Plateresque facade. Originally the central post and telegraph office, it has served as City Hall since 2007 and now also houses exhibition spaces, the CentroCentro cultural center, and a paid viewpoint (Mirador Madrid). The Cibeles fountain in front is famously where Real Madrid fans celebrate championship wins. Banco de España metro station (Line 2) is a short walk away.
