Open since 1819, the Prado is Spain's premier art museum, with some 8,000 works that capture the golden age of Spanish painting, including Velazquez's 'Las Meninas', Goya's 'Clothed' and 'Naked Maja', and El Greco's religious canvases. Its Italian Renaissance and Flemish collections are also outstanding, and Bosch's 'Garden of Earthly Delights' is a must-see. Together with the Reina Sofia and Thyssen-Bornemisza museums, it forms Madrid's Golden Triangle of Art.
