Overview

The Affandi Museum occupies a building designed by Affandi (1907-1990), Indonesia's leading expressionist painter, and opened in 1974. It houses hundreds of his works, including self-portraits and landscapes painted with his signature technique of squeezing paint directly from the tube, along with the museum's distinctive palm-leaf-shaped architecture and river views. His car and bicycle are also on display.
