Overview
Alun-Alun Kidul is a traditional square just south of the Yogyakarta Sultan's Kraton palace, known for the Masangan Kembar legend, in which walking blindfolded between two large banyan trees is said to grant your wish. At night the square fills with brightly lit pedal go-karts (odong-odong), making it a popular evening spot for families, with plenty of street snacks nearby.
