Overview
Jomblang Cave is a vertical cave in the karst landscape of Gunungkidul, southeast of Yogyakarta. Visitors rappel about 60m down a sinkhole into the cave. Around noon, sunlight pours through an opening in the ceiling of the inner Grubug Cave, creating the phenomenon known as the 'Light of Heaven' — a mystical beam of light amid cave mist. The tropical plants on the cave floor lit by this heavenly beam make it an Instagram-famous photo spot. Tour about IDR 500,000 (equipment and guide included). About 1.5 hours by car from Yogyakarta.
