First opened in 1855, Cork Opera House was rebuilt in 1965 in a modern style after a 1955 fire destroyed the original building. It hosts opera, theater, musicals, comedy, and concerts year-round, and serves as a key venue for the October Cork Jazz Festival. Set on the River Lee, its riverside facade looks striking at night, and the in-house café is a pleasant spot before or after a show.
