Overview
Completed in 1879, this French Gothic cathedral by architect William Burges is one of Cork's defining landmarks. Three spires, intricate stonework and over 200 mosaic decorations adorn the exterior, while stained glass and mosaic floors dazzle the interior. The site dates to the 7th century, when Cork's patron St. Finbarr founded a school here, and the cathedral's reflection in the River Lee is especially photogenic.
