Overview
Completed in 1591, the Rialto is the oldest bridge across Venice's Grand Canal, rebuilt in stone after its wooden predecessor. Jewelers' and souvenir shops line both sides, and the view of the Grand Canal from the center of the bridge is stunning. Nearby, Venice's oldest market sells fresh seafood and produce. Gliding under the bridge in a gondola is a classic experience. Free to visit. Directly at Vaporetto Line 1 Rialto stop.
