Overview
Wat Langka is one of Phnom Penh's five surviving ancient pagodas, said to have originally been built as a refuge for Buddhist scripture copies brought from Sri Lanka. It features gleaming golden roofs, elaborate murals, and naga serpent sculptures, along with a memorial to victims of the Khmer Rouge era on its grounds. Nearby boutique cafes and a lively young crowd make it easy to combine with other stops. Free admission (donations welcome). A 5-minute walk from Independence Monument.
