Overview
The Killing Fields (Choeung Ek Genocidal Center) is the site where around 17,000 people were executed under the Khmer Rouge regime (1975-1979). Where victims' remains and clothing were unearthed, a memorial stupa now holds more than 8,000 skulls. An audio guide featuring survivor testimony offers a deeply moving look at one of history's darkest chapters. Admission USD 6 (audio guide included). About 30 minutes by tuk-tuk from downtown.
