Overview
Housed in the former Hantana Tea Factory built in 1925, the Ceylon Tea Museum sits about 3km south of Kandy. It details the history of Ceylon tea from Scotsman James Taylor's 19th-century introduction of tea cultivation to Sri Lanka, displaying old processing machinery and vintage tea packaging. The viewing platform overlooks surrounding tea estates, and the cafe serves freshly brewed Ceylon tea for tasting. Admission about LKR 500. About 10 minutes by car from central Kandy.
