Overview
Standing on the Kruisvest (the old city rampart embankment) in its original spot since 1770, Sint-Janshuismolen is the only one of Bruges's four surviving windmills that still actually grinds grain. On windy days you can watch its sails turn and see the milling mechanism inside, and the steep stairs lead to a view over the ramparts and the city. The other three windmills can only be admired from outside. Admission about EUR 4. 15-minute walk from Markt Square.
Opening Hours
April-November, Tue-Sun 09:30-12:30 and 13:30-17:00 (closed Mon). Details may change; please verify before visiting.
