Overview
Opened in 2005, this 75,000-seat football-only stadium is the home ground of FC Bayern Munich, Germany's most decorated club. Designed by Swiss architects Herzog & de Meuron, its diamond-patterned facade of 2,760 inflatable panels changes color — red, blue, white — depending on the match or event, making it an unmistakable landmark on Munich's northern skyline. On non-match days, the FC Bayern Museum and Arena Tour let visitors walk through the locker rooms, pitch, and trophy hall. It also hosted the opening match of the 2006 World Cup.
