Overview
Designed by architect Josep Vilaseca to serve as the main gateway for the 1888 Barcelona World's Fair, the arch, unlike its Parisian counterpart, is built in a Mudéjar style featuring elaborate carvings and red-brick ornamentation. The Passeig de Lluís Companys promenade stretching from the arch to Ciutadella Park is always lively with locals jogging and strolling. It's located right in front of Arc de Triomf station (Metro L1, red line).
